Sold my home; Realtor Calling Saying Lawm Pump doesn’t work?

Question by Gentleyears A: Sold my home; Realtor Calling Saying Lawm Pump doesn’t work?
I recently sold my home, short sale. Prior to selling to current buyer, I was told that the lawn pump was damage and that VA would not approve the deal unless I had it fixed. On inspection, I found that someone had completely broken the pipes to the lawn pump. I had a handy man go out and fix the pipes to the pump. When I moved out of the house in January 09, there was no problem with the pump. After having the pump pipes fixed, the sale went through. Now “my” real estate agent is calling me stating that the owner’s want the name of the person that fixed the pump, because it’s not working. The man hooked the pipes back up like they were suppose to be, I know, because I was there when he did it and I had to buy the supplies for him to do the job. I guess now that the electric has been turned on in the house, the new owners are saying the pumps not working. I told my agent, the owners should have a professional come out and look at it to see what the problem might be. I feel it’s out of my hand and that I shouldn’t be held responsible. I also think the pipes were broken by some vandels and that I fixed what was done… and requested. I don’t feel I should have to fix anything else and actually, when I fixed the pipes, I was told prior to that would loose the deal if I didn’t. I had fixed, what I say broken. I don’t feel I’m responsible now that the pump don’t work. I didn’t hide any disclosures either. When the new owner’s turned on the electric and the garage door don’t work… am I to fix that too, if the stove goes out in 2 days, am I to fix that too? None of this happened mine you, I’m just asking, when does my responsibility end. Besides, I’ve been out of that house for about 8 months. My agent stated to me that if I don’t give the name of the man who fixed the pump, the new owner’s could cause a problem for all of us. Anyway, I gave him the name, of whom they want be able to find him, because I can’t find him either. Point is, do I have to fix the pump and/or install a new pump? I’m in Florida, the house is in a nice neightbor hood.
To David Z. Sorry for the “long” question, actually I was just giving some details of the transaction, to see if I was liable in anyway and I did summarize the details with a question. Thank you all for your responses, I really appreciate it.

Answer by uhhhh hey
I believe you are in the clear! If it was repaired and their inspector stated it was repaired, the deal went through…it’s a done deal.

P.S. it’s a short sale, not your problem anyway.
